Photo Friday: A Wintry Scene

Happy Winter Solstice! Although the winter weather just moved into Nebraska, I thought I should post a wintry photograph as it is the Winter Solstice. This scene was captured near Peyto Lake in Canada a few years back on a cool morning. All around the snow sparkled in the light of the recently risen sun and I hiked through the snow drifts to line up find a perfect tree to capture the contrast of the long shadows stretching toward me.
